There are so many orthodontic appliances available on the market today and often its hard to know were to start. Braces are usually only ever associated with teenagers between the ages of 12-16 years old, usually once the adult molars have erupted and all baby teeth have exfoliated but more and more adult patients have started to explore the options of dental orthodontics.<\/h4>\n

How old is too old?<\/h3>\n

No one is ever too old! There is no upper age limit for orthodontic treatment, we are fortunate to be part of \u2018up and coming\u2019 dentistry meaning we all seem to be keeping our teeth for much longer and the need of false teeth is a time of the past. We have noticed our patients are becoming more dentally aware than ever before, really taking time to look after their teeth and discover their smile at 30 or at 80!<\/p>\n

Orthodontics have come a long way and there are many options available, people often associate orthodontics with head gear or train track metal braces unaware of the other options available. Clear invisible aligners are a popular preferred choice by many, especially when patients have concerns wearing braces in a job that involves a lot of public\u00a0speaking or they just for want some added confidence.<\/p>\n

Patients are referred to us by their general dentist to straighten crocked teeth and improve appearance. Straightening teeth can also help aid good oral hygiene. When teeth are overlapping cleaning can become difficult, we also accept self-referring patients. It is pleasure to be able to watch patients transform through their journey discovering their smile and share their joy when they are shown the results.<\/p>\n

When we consult with patients we discuss the reasons for treatment, advantages and disadvantages with all options available, we can also use creative diagnostic planning to show patients what their desires and expectations can realistically look like with a wax or computerised model.
