A city in Hertfordshire, St Albans has been named by the Sunday Times as the best city in the South East to live in and it’s not hard to see why. With a buzzing and thriving city centre, there are not many things that St Albans doesn’t have.
If you are based in St Albans and you are in need of a dentist to take good care of your teeth, our practice, UK Dental Specialists, will be able to provide you with a specialist dental service which will leave you more than content with your dental treatment.
Our practice – UK Dental Specialists
UK Dental Specialists was established in 2009 and over the past 11 years we have aimed to provide all of our patients with the best specialist dental care available. Our practice provides a range of treatments within dentistry including orthodontic treatment, endodontic treatment and oral surgery. UK Dental Specialists is considered to be one of the leading dental practices in the UK, as we also have three hospital consultants working in our practice.
What type of treatment do you need?
If you are a new patient at our practice, or you have not received dental treatment for a long time, our dentists will take the time and effort to get to know your dental journey up to the present day, in order for us to specifically tailor your treatment if it is appropriate or deemed necessary.
As a new patient, you will be able to have a free consultation with us when we will be able to give you advice and options about the best treatment to invest in, as well as provide you with information regarding the estimated cost of treatment and the option of a payment plan.
Some of the treatments we offer at UK Dental Specialists include, as mentioned earlier, orthodontic treatment, for example traditional metal braces or invisible braces, root canal treatments otherwise known as endodontics, as well as other treatments including Invisalign braces, prosthodontic treatments and dental implants.
Dental implants at UK Dental Specialists
If you have been dealing with the loss of a tooth or multiple teeth, one of the dental treatment options which may be recommended by our patient care advisor are dental implants.
Dental implants are used to replace a tooth or teeth which have been lost by an individual due to either injury, medication or age.
If you are happy to go ahead with the dental implant procedure, our dentist in St Albans will firstly assess your dental health to ensure that you are suitable for the treatment, This may include taking X-rays of your teeth and gums. Once this has been carried out and we are happy for you to have the treatment, you will have a second appointment with us where our dentist in St Albans will carry out a minor surgical procedure in order to place the implant (which is a small metal post) into your jaw. This is done with sterile conditions and under a local anaesthetic.
Once this has been carried out we recommend that our patients wait up to three months before returning back to our practice for the second procedure, as the metal post needs time to fuse with the jaw.
When we are satisfied that this has happened, we will then fix an artificial tooth (or crown) onto the metal post, which provides it with stability. Even dentures and bridges can be stabilised with dental implants providing a better quality of life when it comes to eating, speaking and smiling.
