Dr Tanika Gohil

Tanika graduated in dentistry from the University of Birmingham in 2012. She worked in general practice and then went on to do three years of dental core training. Initially within multiple dental specialties at King’s College Hospital, she then did one year of Maxillofacial surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and a paediatric dentistry/ maxilla-facial year at Birmingham Children’s hospital.

Tanika completed her specialist training in 2019 and became a consultant in paediatric dentistry in 2021, her experience, has been across tertiary level hospitals, dental hospitals and community dental services.

Tanika is a Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at King’s College NHS Trust. She facilitates the provision of care for children with complex dental, medical, social and behavioural needs by working within multidisciplinary teams.

Dr Amede Okwesa

Amede is a dental graduate from King’s College London, University of London (BDS). She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and sits on the specialist advisory board. She currently works as a specialist in paediatric dentistry at King’s College Hospital and at UK Dental Specialists. Her interests include disease prevention and improving oral health, particularly those with special educational needs. Her 10 years of experience have developed a patient focussed approach to treatment planning and management of children with complex behavioural and medical needs. Her academic clinical fellowship with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has encouraged Amede to devote herself to providing an excellent standard of evidence-based patient care and she enjoys treatment of traumatic dental injuries.

Dr Richa Rughani

Richa graduated from Cardiff University in 2019. She completed two years of dental core training in the specialities of oral and maxillofacial surgery and paediatric dentistry. Following this, she completed three years of specialist training in paediatric dentistry with experience across hospital and community dental services.

She has experience caring for children from a wide range of behavioural, medical and social backgrounds, and manages diverse dental needs including dental trauma, developmental defects and medically compromised patients.

Richa provides tailored, holistic care to each child and family, including treatment with inhalation sedation where appropriate to support anxious patients. She is committed to delivering safe, compassionate and evidence-based care, ensuring children feel comfortable and families feel confident at every stage of treatment.
